Capybara Cafe

We had a trip planned to St. Pete, and a few nights before we left home I saw a news article on FB about the opening of the new Capybara Cafe! My wife loves capybaras, so I booked the lounge experience for us. My wife was so excited, but I told her not to get her hopes up too high. Boy, was I wrong…the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, in particular, Michael, Rachel, and Sigma (the owner) were exceedingly helpful and friendly. The facility was very nice and clean, but the real stars are the animals! Not only were there seven capybaras, there were goats, pigs, tortoises, rabbits, macaws, snakes, lizards, and guinea pigs! The animals are very well taken care of and the staff is very protective to make sure everyone follows the rules while still having fun. Also, the staff was very knowledgeable about the different animals, their habitats, etc. I highly recommend it and we would definitely go back. In fact, we loved it so much we ended up booking the mini-safari and the “After Dark” nocturnal animals experiences while we were there. During these experiences we also got to see/interact with a baby fennec fox, a baby chocolate skunk, a ringtail cat, a baby wallaby, a screaming hairy armadillo, and a coatimundi! It really was an amazing experience we will never forget!

This was one of the best experiences we have had in the area ! All of the animals were so cute and friendly. It was so clean, and fun and very organized. The staff was very sweet and knowledgeable too. My kids can’t wait to go back !

We had a delightful visit this morning with the capybaras and friends ( baby goats, tortoises, bunnies, parrots, guinea pigs, baby skunk)! Very clean and well staffed! All the workers were friendly and ready to answer all questions! The animals were very accessible and friendly. The price may seem high but it is for a good cause and they also help other conservation animal groups. Thirty minutes was a nice amount of time and there was plenty of interaction. The area was well decorated with seating and couches for folks and animals alike. Very relaxing and non stressful for the animals .

Such a wonderful experience for the whole family. Aside from the capybaras there are also a variety of other animals to interact with. The space is so clean and it is very apparent all the animals are loved and well taken care of. The staff is so lovely and they seep with a passion for animal conservation. Only thing I would say if I would definitely would have loved a little coffee bar/snack shack, it would have encouraged me to stay even longer and contribute to the business. However overall I am definitely planning to visit again!

Went today and had a great time :) it’s clean, the animals are social, the staff is engaging; all around great experience. I highly recommend!!! It’s also helping support a local rescue so it’s a win/win!

Just left Capybara Cafe. It was an amazing experience! We originally booked for the Capybara Lounge but we added the Lemur experience as well. The staff is amazing and answered any questions we had. Our lemur experience was amazing. There were only 2 of us and Daniel was so great. He gave us all kinds of great information about the lemurs. I will be coming back before I return to Ohio to see the nocturnal animals. Thanks for a great experience!!!

This place is unreal! The staff are all amazing! Huge shootout to Slone, Elena, Leah and Rachel...you all are fantastic and the backbone of that place! This is an educational location not for profit, apparent by their incredibly knowledgeable and caring staff. Their main goal is to safely educate visitors about these rare and specials creatures, while putting the animals safey and wellbeing first. Clean and well maintained Young or old this is a great visit, and if you go DONATE if you can, these animals deserve care cant wait to go again

My daughter and I had our first visit to the Cafe today. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, it was so much better!! The animals were friendly and sociable, the staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. It was clean! The staff were all very aware of how each interaction was going, and quickly stepped in to handle anything unexpected. We can't wait to go back and try it the other experiences!
